Stevens Pass

Situated on the North Fork Skykomish River at the western edge of the Cascade Mountains, Index is about an hour and a half drive from northeast of Seattle. Known for its abundance of activities during all seasons, there are numerous close-by hiking trails and abandoned logging roads which make great mountain biking, 4-wheeling and snowmobiling fun. Thousands of rafters and kayakers find the Skykomish River one of the finest whitewater rivers in the country and the Stevens Pass ski area (an hour drive away) provides world class downhill and cross country skiing.
